Two Weeks to Go: Call for Submissions Opens March 16
We’re just two weeks away from the launch of the Call for Submissions for the ARNOVA 2026 Annual Conference.
Opening on March 16, 2026, the call will invite proposals aligned with this year’s theme: Igniting Civic Activism: Grassroots and Voluntary Action and Democracy. We welcome submissions that examine how nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and voluntary action shape civic life and democratic participation across local, national, and global contexts.

The submission site is currently being finalized. As soon as it is live, we will email all members with the direct link and full submission guidelines.
Now is the time to begin refining your ideas, reaching out to collaborators, and preparing your proposal. We look forward to the scholarship and practice insights that will shape our November convening in Philadelphia.

Meet our new Executive Director: Reza Hasmath
This month, we’re pleased to officially welcome Reza Hasmath, who began serving as ARNOVA’s part-time Executive Director.
Many of you may already know Reza through his scholarship and longstanding engagement in nonprofit and civil society research. In this new role, he will work closely with the Board, sections, members, and partners to support ARNOVA’s mission and strategic priorities.
Reza brings an international perspective and a deep commitment to advancing nonprofit scholarship across disciplines and global contexts. His research explores civil society, governance, and public policy, and he has collaborated extensively with academic institutions, government agencies, and international organizations.
As he begins this role, Reza is especially looking forward to:

Strengthening bridges between research and practice

Supporting the continued growth and impact of our annual conference
