In the U.S., black and brown faces are underrepresented at all levels, particularly in academia. If research is to help us understand human behavior, and what works and what doesn’t in the nonprofit sector, then black and brown scholars need to be part of the research team. Our diversity programs, developed and led by black and brown scholars, work on eliminating barriers to entry by funding and guiding academics or future scholars who have little to no experience in the field, which makes the years’ long process far less intimidating. Your support can dramatically improve the chances that black and brown scholars will successfully navigate the educational challenges and experiences required to flourish in careers in research.
