#ARNOVA22 Vaccination Policy
A message from the Board President and the Executive Director
We look forward to seeing as many of our ARNOVA members as possible at our upcoming conference in Raleigh. We realize, though, that COVID-19 lingers and we are monitoring CDC tracking and recommendations weekly.
As of August 26th, the CDC's COVID Data Tracker Weekly Review reports that COVID cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are all leveling off after their increase over the summer. They also report that 77.4% of the U.S. population aged 18 and older are fully vaccinated against the virus, and studies show that "Being up to date on COVID-19 vaccines continues to provide strong protection against severe disease, hospitalization, and deaths in adults, including during Omicron variant predominance."
For that reason, we have decided to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of first day in attendance at the conference. You can find details on this policy and related procedures here.
As the Board shared with you in July, we recognize that not everyone will agree with our decision. We hope you'll grant us a bit of the grace that we've all had to practice these last several, challenging years. Please review all of the health & safety measures in place this year; and most importantly, know that we will continue to get through this . . . together.
Pier Rogers, Board President & Lynnette Cook, Executive Director
